Objects combine two modes of representation. They either refer to a larger reality and act as models or they are self-referential as objects in their own right. To varying degrees an object may be a combination of both types. We use objects to test ideas, conceptualise and initiate a creative process. Objects also serve as testing ground for spatial relations and their qualities, materials and technical innovations. In an experimental or playful manner they explore the limits of ideas.
As ‘communication devices’ objects act as animators and provoke dialogue, thought and contact. In order to investigate more complex and dynamic issues we add 3d virtual reality and combine our objects with animations, graphics and film.
